Several years ago, Karen’s son Ryan took part in a ITFC Charitable Trust education initiative which changed his life. Whilst Ryan wasn’t diagnosed with autism, he is on the autistic scale, suffered with severe anxiety and anger management problems and tourettes.
"It helped him to control his anxiety and anger"
Through a Trust’s Education programme, Ryan was given the opportunity to not only improve his academic skills in a fun and engaging way through sport, but also the chance to meet friends, gain confidence and learn to work as part of a team which is something he had struggled with in the past.

Karen says: “Attending The Winning Post at Newmarket made an incredible difference to Ryan and my family. It helped him to control his anxiety and anger, gave him confidence and taught him how to work with others.”
Recently Karen’s daughter Heleana also took part in one of our education projects; “Whilst Heleana is a very bright girl, she lacked confidence and the Charitable Trust really helped her to excel” said Karen.
