Team programme

The Team programme has been one of the Trust’s most successful programmes since it came to Portman Road back in January 2008. Working in partnership with the Prince’s Trust Lowestoft and West Suffolk College, Ipswich Town Football Club (through the Trust) became the first Football Club in the country to become a direct delivery partner of this programme.
A few years on and the Trust has seen over 240 young people complete the programme at Portman Road, with the majority going on to further education or employment.
The Team Programme which is completely free to those who take part, works to develop the lives of unemployed 16 to 25 year olds living in Suffolk, by offering support to those looking to make positive life decisions, helping them to improve their confidence and move on to new opportunities.
Taking place over 12-weeks, the programme is made up of variety of activities to help those involved reach their ultimate goals whether it is gaining experience in the workplace or confidence and self-esteem. Activities include a residential military experience trip, fundraising, helping organisations and charities in the local community, Interview advice, how to write a CV and two weeks of work experience.

After the three months, each member of the Team is required to take part in a graduation presentation to complete the course. Special guests, friends and families are invited to the Football Club to listen to the experiences and memories of each individual who took part and what they hope to go on and achieve.
Following the success of the Team Programme run at Portman Road, the Trust have extended the initiative to the Lowestoft and West Suffolk area.
