Our completely free, 12-week Fit Fans programme offers practical advice on diet and exercise helping you to shed the extra pounds and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Courses are held on the practice pitch here at ITFC Charitable Trust, Portman Road in Ipswich on Thursdays starting this week on 31 January from 6 – 7.30pm for 12 weeks. The next set of sessions will be lunchtimes beginning on Thursday 28 February from 12noon – 1.30pm. We also have a range of Fit Fans evening sessions held around the county including; Felixstowe, Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury and also in Haverhill. For more details about all these courses contact our Fit Fans co-ordinator on 01473 229295 or email james.colchester@livewellsuffolk.org.uk The courses are open to both men and women and you don’t have to be a fan of the football just someone with a real desire to get fitter and hopefully lighter too.
James Colchester is the Fit Fans Co-ordinator for ITFC Charitable Trust and he explains how the course works. “Most of our participants can expect to lose between 1-2 pounds a week which might not seem huge initially but you have to remember that you’ll also be improving muscle tone whilst losing fat.”
Over the past two years the Fit Fans courses have been a huge success with over 71% of participants reducing their B.M.I. (Body Mass Index) in year one, increasing to 72.5% of participants reducing theirs last year. James explains
“We begin by working out your BMI and explaining how the 12 weeks will cover not just regular movement but also a change in lifestyle and eating habits too.” The Fit Fans programme is free of charge for those taking part and you can either contact us here at the Trust to enquire about a place or be referred to us by your Doctor.
We have the facilities and expertise here at Portman Road to really help you to find that fitter, leaner you. Our Fit Fans courses give practical help and support to people to become more active and healthier and happier too. Each session takes place here at the ITFC Charitable Trust offices and we’ll teach you fun, practical and realistic ways to achieve a healthy diet and a good level of fitness by making simple changes to your everyday life.
This week we launch our next 12 week programme and each of the sessions is followed up by an hours personal training and all of this is free of charge - so what are you waiting for? Give us a call or email today(via Lifewell Suffolk) on 01473 229295 or email james.colchester@livewellsuffolk.org.uk.
