Futsal & Education Scholarship
ITFC Charitable Trust, have been invited to participate in a new and innovative education and sporting programme. This programme has been developed in conjunction with the Football League Trust and is a national initiative to promote and develop the game of Futsal.
Futsal is the only form of indoor football approved by FIFA, UEFA and The FA.
With over 2 million players regularly participating in fast-paced 5-a-side action that rewards good technique and game intelligence, Futsal is globally recognised as one of the fastest growing indoor sports in the world.
Many greats from the 11-a-side game such as Ronaldo, Fabregas, Zidane and Pele attribute the development of their skills to Futsal. Extensively televised international competitions such as the Futsal World Cup and UEFA Futsal Cup allow players to showcase their talents on a global scale and ensure that Futsal is here to stay as part of the fabric of football.
The scholars will learn the game and play regular mid-week fixtures, in a regionalised league against other teams such as Colchester United, Southend United, Crystal Palace and Brentford amongst others. The experienced and qualified coaches will be able to help player’s progress, improve technically and mentally as well as learn new training techniques. They will also train once a week at Ipswich Town Football Club Training Ground.
Also to ensure that learners are fully prepared for the future, the scholarship includes a full-time (3 day week), two-year education package that will start this September and incorporates:
•BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport, worth up to 3 A Levels, accessed by suitable GCSE grades;
•Allows access to university and further study;
•Opens the door to a coaching career in football or Futsal;
•Opens the door to a career in refereeing both Futsal and football;
•Opportunity to gain Level 1 and 2 coaching qualifications.
For you as a player, our coaches can train you, educate you, and tend to your individual needs – and you should still make your evening training sessions for your local club and will be available every weekend for your competitive matches.
The course is based at Portman Road and the BTEC level 3 is provided by VLUK – which is an online based learning platform. It’s great for easy, quick and fun learning.”
